  • Meet the new President/CEO of the Barnesville-Lamar County Chamber of Commerce, Melissa Lee.

    Melissa Lee was born in Jonesboro Georgia and is a graduate of Jonesboro Senior High School. She moved to Barnesville with her family in 1999. Shortly thereafter Melissa began working at the Barnesville Lamar County Chamber of Commerce and was named Executive Director in 2002, a position that she held for nearly five years.  During Melissa’s prior experience with the Barnesville-Lamar County Chamber of Commerce, she graduated from Leadership Lamar and earned certificates in Organizational Management and Economic Management from The University of Georgia Fanning Institute for Leadership Development.

    Melissa has been married to Lamar Lee since 2014 and has four children, two step-children and a granddaughter. Melissa is an active member of First Baptist Church of Barnesville where she keeps the nursery and serves on several committees. In her free time, Melissa enjoys spending time with her family and running.

  • Meet the new Executive Assistant of the Barnesville-Lamar County Chamber of Commerce, Carol Perry.

  • Prior to joining the Chamber of Commerce, Carol Perry built a career of more than 20 years in systems analysis, business analysis, market analysis, and project management.  She spent much of that time in the insurance, banking, healthcare and hospitality industries in the private sector as well as the public sector with the State Purchasing Division of the Georgia Department of Administrative Services.  Carol oversaw the Pike County Chamber of Commerce in 2016/2017 and brings previous local as well as regional Chamber experience to the Lamar County Chamber of Commerce.  She blends big-picture perspective with her ability to juggle multiple moving parts and details, adding an invaluable layer of quality and control to the Chamber team.

    Carol holds a BBA degree in Computer Information Systems as well as a BBA degree in Marketing from the University of Texas.
